The Accu-Chek Smart Pix helps both people with diabetes and their healthcare professionals to view and understand results. It is simply plugged into a PC to give an instant picture.
The Accu-Chek Smart Pix features:
Accu-Chek Smart Pix provides ‘state-of-the-art’ connectivity for Accu-Chek devices, by using industry standard connectivity (USB) and file formats (HTML, XML, BMP, PNG, etc.)
When connected to a PC, Accu-Chek Smart Pix is recognized by the computer as a mass storage device (MSD) i.e. a drive with removable disk (similar to a USB memory stick). All information from the uploaded devices, but also the elements needed for the user interface appear as files on this drive and are not transferred to the hard disk of the computer.
Accu-Chek Smart Pix is recognized in addition by the computer as a human interface device (HID), similar to a mouse or keyboard. This functionality is currently not used, but will be used as connectivity platform for future PC applications.
Accu-Chek Smart Pix connects via a USB cable to a PC, therefore a free USB port is needed.
There is no need for batteries; power to Accu-Chek Smart Pix is provided via the USB port.
The PC’s operating system must provide full USB support; therefore Microsoft Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4) or Microsoft XP (Home or Professional) must be used. Older operating systems do not provide the needed USB support.
For accessing the user interface of Accu-Chek Smart Pix an Internet browser must be installed (e.g. Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x and later, Firefox 1.x and later, Opera 8.x and later).
The user interface of the Accu-Chek Smart Pix system is optimized for a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels; the monitor must be set to that resolution or higher.
Accu-Chek Smart Pix can be used with the following Accu-Chek products:
