All the meters of the Accu-Chek Active family use the Accu-Chek Active test strips which are part of a system designed for people who want a proven system that is fast and simple.
Easy blood application.
The large touchable test strips require a small blood sample of 1-2 micro litres.
Under-dosing detection.
The system indicates if more blood is needed.
Re-dosing capability.
With the Accu-Chek Active test strip in-meter re-dosing is possible within 5 seconds.1
It's your choice.
You can apply blood to the test strip in or out of the meter. Choose what works best for you.
Visual double-check.
The visual double-check option gives you a back-up on your blood glucose values. Just compare the colour in the test strip control window with the colours on the vial.
Advice: When you take a test strip from the vial make sure you close it immediately afterwards to preserve strip quality.

Measuring.
After inserting the test strip into the test strip guide in the direction of the arrows, the meter turns on automatically.
After a short display check and a code number confirmation (it has to correspond with the code on the vial), the test strip and the flashing blood drop symbol appear on the display. Apply the drop of blood to the centre orange field and remove your finger. After approximately 5 seconds, the result is displayed.
When removing the test strip the meter turns off automatically and saves up to 200 results in memory together with date, time and averages.
Out-of-meter dosing.
When the test strip and flashing blood drop symbols are displayed, remove the test strip from the meter. Apply the blood to the test strip and reinsert it into the meter within 20 seconds.
Flagging a control test.
When conducting a control test you can flag the result so it will not be included in the calculation of the averages . Press the S button once. In the display you see an hourglass symbol along with the control test flag, a bottle with the letter C.You can insert the flag at this point.
Visual plausibility check of test results.
Check the round coloured control window on the back of the test strip.
Compare the colour of this window with the colours on the label of the test strip vial for plausibility check. But consider: Only test results displayed by the meter should be used for therapeutic decisions.
In addition to fingertip testing, the Accu-Chek Active can be used for testing on alternative sites, including the palm, forearm, upper arm, thigh or calf.1 Alternative site testing requires the use of a special lancet cap.
