Circle of Care

An innovative pathway - 'Circle of Care' concept for better managed diabetes care

Comprehensive Accu-Chek diabetes care portfolio offers promise of increased, more spontaneous quality of life for people with diabetes

At the 41st European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) Conference in Athens, Greece, Roche Diagnostics presented its Accu-Chek "Circle of Care" concept: this approach brings excellence in technology to people with diabetes to help them manage their condition, leaving them extra time to enjoy a more spontaneous quality of life. The "Circle of Care" is comprised of three core actions: collect, analyze and act. These key elements of modern diabetes care are covered by the three Accu-Chek product areas of patient needs: blood glucose meters, data management tools and insulin delivery systems.

Completing the Accu-Chek 'Circle of Care' means successfully integrating an extensive range of products and services into the pathway of innovation. This approach reflects an ongoing commitment to address comprehensive diabetes management for people living with this condition throughout the world".

Solutions for Self-Management

The "Circle of Care" of Accu-Chek enables people with diabetes and health care providers to work together to collect information, analyze the data and act on key learnings, thus creating tailor-made diabetes self-management solutions. The launches of new Accu-Chek products such as Accu-Chek Performa and Accu-Chek Compact Plus blood glucose meters, the Accu-Chek Multiclix, the Accu-Chek Spirit insulin pump and the Accu-Chek Pocket Compass 3.0 data management and bolus recommendation software allow customers to see the direct benefits of these innovations. The Accu-Chek Pocket Compass 3.0 interfaces via infrared between the Accu-Chek Aviva and Accu-Chek Compact Plus meter as well as the Accu-Chek Spirit insulin pump.  Thus, the three main areas of effective diabetes treatment blood glucose measurement, insulin delivery, and data management tools are integrated and the "Circle of Care" is complete.

In addition to products and core activities, the "Circle of Care" also encompasses leading-edge services and educational initiatives which strive towards one common goal: bringing patients and healthcare providers together to improve the self-management of diabetes. In the Gulf countries, Roche Diagnostics has also launched a global education initiative called "Accu-Chek Education Program". It offers step-by-step training to gather the needs of patients and caregivers and highlights key behavioral elements for effective diabetes management

Accu-Chek is a pioneer in the development of blood glucose monitoring systems and a global leader for comprehensive diabetes care.
